There is one thing that many growers do, and that is try to protect their outdoor weed crop. They do this by placing a fence around their crop and while it cannot keep out humans it can help to protect plants from deer, rabbits and other wild creatures that live off of vegetation. Short of placing an alarm system around the crop there is little besides having a hidden crop that can be done to keep out humans.
