Obtaining Clones

The grower that plans to use clones for their marijuana crop will need to have a female plant they have selected for the quality of the pot it produces and also that it is a healthy fast growing plant. The plant is known as the mother plant and this is where the clones will be obtained.

To obtain the clone from the mother plant the grower must select the cuttings if they intend to take and then using a sharp razor cut these from the plant in one movement, rather than sawing the cuttings from the cannabis plant. The next step to grower will take is to make a diagonal slice on the stem of the cutting and dip it into rooting powder prior to sticking it in the dirt or into their selected growing medium if growing a hydroponic marijuana crop.

Many indoor cannabis growers choose to use clones not only because they can grow more marijuana crops per year, but also because they can choose a plant that is fast growing healthy and produces quality pot.
