The other smoke that can be made from the cannabis plant is hashish, or more commonly known as hash. This is a product that while it will need help from the grower is naturally grown on the cannabis plant and is a high that many smokers like, but do not have the know-how to make it from their harvest. Hashish is something that was not thought up by any recent past generations of pot smokers, it is an ancient art that has been used to make hash much the same way as it is currently made, with a difference in the way the resin is removed from the plants.

The process of making hash is done by extracting the resins from the marijuana plant that are found, for the most part, on the glands that are known as trichomes and what gives the buds a frosted appearance. Depending on the strain of the cannabis being grown the buds frosting might have more of the THC resin than with other strains.

Hash is becoming more popular for the grower; this is one way that they can maximize their crop, whether they are an indoor grower with several crops per year or an outdoor grower that has one crop per year. This is also a way to have something special, along with the harvest from the crop for the grower with a little effort.

The grower that would like to make hash can find many different ways to do it and some use chemicals like alcohol while others are made more organically. There is also the need for several different items such as a screen to screed the product, and there is even a method that uses a blender. One thing that the process of making hash does is to use up the scraps from the plants that would normally be discarded by the grower. The different methods that can be used to process the hashish consist of using a flat screen, a drum tumbler or even a household blender.

One of the things that will differ is the potency of the hash, and this is because the most potent hash is made from the gland heads, while most hash is made from the stalk and other parts of the cannabis plant, along with the THC loaded glands.

The stalk and other parts of the cannabis plant that are discarded and can be used in making hash are called skuff, and the grower should determine what parts of this skuff are best to use when they make hashish. The hash will only have the amount of quality as the things that are used to make it and even when finding leaves that appear to have trichomes on them the grower will need to inspect them with a magnifying glass to be certain, because otherwise the leaf is not what the grower will want to use to make their hash.  When making hash the skuff that will be used should be dry, but not dry enough to crumble.
