The Crop Location

Once the seeds have been obtained that will grow a quality crop in the amount of time that will fit into the growing season, then it is time to find a location. Having a prime location for growing marijuana means an out of the way spot where no one will pass by, that has great soil and good drainage, along with the proper amount of light from the sun.

Finding the right location is just as important as having the right seeds for the cannabis grower, because the location will need a water source such as a stream or lake unless the grower is going to carry and water. In most cases Mother Nature will take care of the plants including watering.

The location that many growers feel safe with for their outdoor crop is located near woods, or where there are insects like bees, green flies and other pests, because this will be a place that people will avoid. No matter where the location is it will be important to have two elements, the amount of sunlight needed by the crop and a water source. Care should be taken with the water source, to ensure that the location is not in a flood area.

The other things that are important is soil that is well draining, and soil that has a sand mixture is perfect for the outdoor cannabis crop. This is also soil that will be easy to plant in compared to hard packed soil, which is both non-draining and is also difficult to dig in.

When the soil is too sandy it is best to mix top soil in with it for healthy crop and good harvest, if the soil has a high content of clay then there should be peat moss added to it to break the clay up and make it a better draining soil. One of the places that marijuana will grow easily is in grassland soil, and this can also help to hide the crop while growing.

One area that most growers avoid, unless they have no other choice is by roadsides, this is not only for fear of discovery. But, also because the side of the road soil contains lead and many other toxins that when the cannabis plants are harvested will end up being smoked and that means the toxins will be ingested.

One of the other things that needs to be taken into consideration by the grower when choosing a site for their marijuana crop, and this is to make certain the crop will not be planted in an area where there could be construction started prior to the plants being ready to be harvested.
