The time to harvest the cannabis plants will depend on the weather during the growing season, the amount of rain, the temperatures during the day and at night, along with other factors can make the harvest time different. There is also the frost factor for the grower living in colder climates that might be forced to pull the largest part of the crop if there is a predicted frost, otherwise risk losing the plants to frost. The grower living in a climate that has the right temperatures and humidity that is risking losing the nearly mature crop to fungus might also harvest early. Frost can be a major factor for growers living in climates that can have frost as early as mid September and into October, since this is when the crops will be ready for harvest with most strains of seeds. That means watching the weather closely for reports of frost.

When growing cannabis outdoors one of the other things that will need to be planned for is the harvest, not only because this is what the grower has been waiting for, but also because this is an event that will need to be done without attracting any attention. There are some growers that harvest their marijuana crop at night, this leaves out the possibility of being seen and when doing this flashlights will need to be kept at a bare minimum. Unless the growing area is far enough away from any road, houses, or where a passerby might see the light, flash lights should be used carefully, so they will not attract anyone’s attention that could alert the authorities.
One of the other things the grower will have to plan ahead for is a good location for drying the harvested marijuana plants.
